An Update…and Pinterest Quotes that Speak to My Heart

Well, next week we will hit 10 months on the waiting list (the 9th month passed with no fan fare because we felt like ignoring it) and there is FINALLY GOOD NEWS to share!!! Last week TWO children were matched with families from our agency (referrals) and there look to be another 2-3 planned for this week!

MOVEMENT IS HAPPENING!!!

It had been more than 8 L O N G months since any referrals and our hope and expectation was at an all time low.  So many thoughts went through our minds- “Was this a sign the program was closing down?  Would the wait become indefinite?  Would the adoption we’d invested 1½ years and a lot of money in even happen?”  Some people would say that’s focusing on the negative, but all of these things have happened in the past in other countries, so we just didn’t know. 

 

So last week when we got word that referrals began- it was like water to a parched desert!  We are truly thankful that the children are on their way to being united with their forever families, and the families here that have been praying, dreaming and waiting, finally get to see the face of the child that will become their own one day! 

With all the movement that has been happening we are creeping closer to the front of the list for a referral…but I’ll have to leave you hanging for now and hold off on declaring our actual number J  Let’s just say we’re happy about it!  Please PRAY for the right elements to line up so that we can see the face of Baby Jones and begin the process of bringing him home.  There are currently still not any young children (under the age of 2.5) in our baby home, but the staff in Ethiopia is working hard to build relationships with other orphanages that are caring for young children in effort to partner with them.  These partnerships would expand the possibilities of a referral in the near future!
